Born in LA for LA
Who We Are
BuildLA Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating recovery and rebuilding efforts following the devastating Los Angeles wildfires of January 2025.
The initiative emphasizes fire safety, equity, and sustainability to foster a resilient future for the community. In the aftermath of the wildfires, which resulted in significant loss and displacement, BuildLA aims to collaborate with local authorities, residents, and stakeholders to implement innovative rebuilding strategies that prioritize safety and environmental sustainability.
The organization seeks to address systemic challenges exacerbated by the disaster, ensuring that recovery efforts promote equitable access to resources and opportunities for all affected residents. By integrating sustainable building practices and community-centered planning, BuildLA Initiative aspires to transform the tragedy into an opportunity for creating a safer and more equitable Los Angeles.
